Glass Fish Sculpture J Rozinek & S Honzik Czechoslovakia Vintage EXBOR

Up for sale is this original Exbor Czechoslavakia (Egermann Exbor Česká) art glass fish. Designed in 1958 by Stanislav Honzik Sr. (1928–1998) and Josef Rozinek (1911–1992) . The book "The Legend of Bohemian Glass: A Thousand Years of Glassmaking in the Heart of Europe" by Antonín Langhamer, had this to say on page 205. "An indispensable part of Exbor's production plan consisted of glass sculptures that were performed at the furnace and later received cut decoration. Those designs most in demand -- the fish -- dated all the way back to preparations for the exhibition in Brussels and were designed by Stanislav Honzik Sr. and Josef Rozinek." This fish design was actually used on a later 1981 catalog ad of famous Česká art glass. It measures approx. 11" long and 7.25" high and 3 1/4" across.

I would call it imperfect at the tip of the tail which was likely the end of the glass/crystal bead used during production of this artwork.  This work came from the estate of an Exbor collector.  Since it has a production flaw at the tip of the tail,  it was likely sold as a 'second' and was not given the acid etched markings.
