This notable author was a leading figure in the Yiddish literary movement and recipient of the Nobel Prize in literature in 1978. All of his works were written in Yiddish. This medal was issued for the Magnes Museum located at the University of California, in Berkeley. These medals were issued in limited quantities, usually less than a few hundred pieces.
