Up for sale is this "The Mills Novelty Co" - Ornate Shield / Plaque
It measures 10 3/4" Tall by 7 5/8" Wide. It may be a decorative nameplate, display plaque or advertising piece and could have been cast somewhere between 1890 - 1920, prewar, as the Victorian/Edwardian aesthetic was popular in their early output. It features a an elegant female motif which Mills often used to make their products visually appealing in saloons, arcades and stores. It comes from the wealthy estate of an Antique collector.
This is a beautiful, well-made piece of American manufacturing history from one of Chicago's iconic companies—definitely a keeper for a collector of early arcade or industrial memorabilia!
