I put a small charge of gas in it to test that it holds gas and lights. The flint has been exhausted. The wheel under the lid unscrews the flint holder which ejects under the hinge of the lid on the side of the lighter. The flint holder is spring loaded, so take care when loosening the flint holder that it doesn't fly away from you. The refill port is protected by a cap on the bottom.
